A Look Back at Celia Hammond and Patti Boyd

In the 1960’s, you could scarcely pick up a magazine without spotting the famous faces of models, Celia Hammond and Patti Boyd. The two blond Brits were as recognizable then as Hayden Panettiere and Blake Lively are today.
Nearly four decades later, the women are still beautiful and still making statements everywhere they go.
Celia Hammond was a familiar face in the 60’s fashion world. Working closely with Vogue and noted photographer, Terence Donovan, Hammond’s photos epitomized youthful innocence, while embracing the bad girl within.

Today, Hammond devotes her time to giving a voice to animals by taking a stand against fur and opening the Celia Hammond Animal Trust to decrease the feral animal population.

When Patti Boyd first burst upon the modeling scene in 1962, many photographers were apt to reject her because of her unconventional looks. As her career progressed, however, she became the muse for many artists including her former lovers, the late George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

In 2006, a San Francisco museum opened a photography exhibit in tribute to Boyd entitled, Through the Eyes of a Muse. These days, Boyd has been busy defending herself in British newspapers over her love triangle with Harrison and Clapton.

Lovely collection of photos! Unconventional = beautiful!
These ladies are SO, SO inspiring. I used to gawk at old pictures of them when I was little. It was because of them that I overused black eyeliner in high school in my failed attempt to emulate that 60s cat eye. Thank you so much for posting these images!
