Summertime Skin Saver: Smashbox’s Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
In the summer, there’s only one thing worse than applying a thick, goopy foundation before stepping out into the sweltering heat, and that is having that thick, goopy foundation start to melt and gather into pools on your face.
It’s probably best to switch to a tinted moisturizer in the summer. But which one will offer a sheer coverage, with the right amount of color?
Enter Smashbox’s Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15!

It makes for a smooth even application, and all-day protection. Plus, the SPF 15 makes for an added bonus.
Listen, there are some things you can skimp on. Your skin isn’t one of them. This summer, ditch the foundation, and pick up a tube of this stuff. You’ll undoubtedly be grateful…and so will your healthy, summer skin!

Get This Makeup Look Fast: Duffy
Welsh singer/songwriter Duffy is known for more than just her airy vocals and mod style. She’s also know for her classical beauty. And even though the songstress knows how to make her makeup look dramatic with bold black liner and mascara, Duffy keeps her makeup very simple, so as to achieve the perfect amount of pretty.
To get a look like Duffy’s with only four products (after applying a base), it’s all about the neutrals:

- Smashbox Doubletake Lip Color in Gossamer.
- Maybelline New York’s Lineworks Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in black
- Stila Eyeshadow Pan in Kitten
- Covergirl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara in Black Platinum

All-New NARS Fall 2009 Collection
Fall’s runways were dominated by two words: bold and feminine. Strong shouldered and form-hugging silhouettes, extreme heels and provocative thigh-high boots, and a color palette of classic hues turned up a notch to Technicolor volumes. These trends also illustrate the NARS Fall collection.
“For this collection, I wanted to create something fragile and strong, and seductive but not aggressive,” said François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. The combination of strength and refinement has become a hallmark of NARS, and is particularly fitting this season as the brand celebrates its 15th anniversary.
NARS Fast Ride Lipstick – $24

NARS Tokaido Express – $16

NARS Silk Road Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Brumes Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Indian Summer Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Mekong Single Eyeshadow- $22

Drug Store Brand Mascara: the Good, the Bad, and the So Ugly
In an effort to save money this past weekend, (yes, I know…recessionista) I headed to the local Duane Reade to grab a new mascara. When it comes to items like mascara that need to be continuously replaced, I have no problem grabbing something from the drug store aisles. However, my immediate problem stemmed from purchasing a mascara from NYC Cosmetics. My initial reaction when I grabbed the NYC Maximum Boost Volumizing Mascara was simply, How bad could it be?
I would later find out as I awake the next morning after application (this is AFTER it had been washed off, or so I thought), to find my eye was swollen and puffy. This was no stye or eye infection, people. This is a full-blown allergy. I’ve had this reaction before with some drug store brands. And it’s only become progressively worse: achy and swollen.
Exhibit A)

Maybe my eyes are just a bit sensitive. However, if you’re going to go the drug store route, you need to realize one of two things: more expensive doesn’t always mean better, but popular brands can be popular for a reason: they work!
reLYME recommends trying Rimmel London’s Glam’Eyes Mascara

Blaze It Up and Get Baked
I’ve always admired Urban Decay for their ability to cleverly, and yet appropriately, bestow clever names upon their latest products. (See Pocket Rocket, for instance. I recommend James!)
There latest release is no exception.

The Get Baked Eyeshadow Pallette, features colors from the popular “Baked” collection with four stunning shades that would look beautiful on anyone: three neutrals – Baked, Half Baked, and Twice Baked – and a teal shade that’s caught my eye, Flipside. AND, included in the pallette are trial-size versions of the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils or Sin Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
Warning: This pallette will definitely make you light up…a room!

After an exhausting week, there’s nothing I look forward to more than a night of beauty and relaxation. And no other night inspires this more than Friday. If Saturday night is the classic “date night,” then Friday is the night where you scrub away all of the anxiety from the week so you can fully enjoy your weekend.
I put together my ideas for the quintessential Friday night at home. Prepare to be pampered!
