Cheap vs. Chic: Fall Booties by Elizabeth and James

With the prospect of a new-home purchase, and getting settled in a new state, I can’t afford to be careless with my cash. So, when I saw these booties by Elizabeth and James for $395, I knew there had to be a cheaper way.

I was able to find a comparable pair from Forever21.com for under $25!

It may not be a perfect likeness, no double takes here, but with a savings of over $300, the sensibility is enough to make my feet and my pocketbook sing!

Fall’s Best Friend: Infinity Scarf by The Limited

I’ve always been a fan of a good scarf, which is funny as I’m a native Floridian (with a short time spent living in NYC.) I am a firm believer that a scarf can practically spruce up any outfit. As the months get colder however, it’s important to combine fashion AND function.

The Limited Infinity Scarf accomplishes both tasks beautifully.

I saw scarves like this all over the place last winter, but none of them seem quite as fantastic as this one. (Even my dear friend, Sarah from Style IT has one!)

In either a chunky version (above left) with open stitches available in three colors or a shaker version (above right) available in many colors, the Infinity Scarf is guaranteed to be the perfect warm companion to your chilling fall (and even winter) months!

L.A.M.B. Spring 2010

The L.A.M.B. runway was an eclectic mix of bold prints, crazy colors, and a juxtaposition of pretty and punk. The looks were edgy and altogether youthful.

There were some looks that kept me guessing, but many of the pieces just took my breath away. (Such as the darling white lace tights below that I must have right now! As Sarah from Style IT would say, “I need them in my life!”)

All in all, I’ve always been a big proponent of L.A.M.B. and if this season was so much fun, I’m so excited to see what happens next season!

BCBG Max Azria NYFW Spring 2010

The kickoff day to Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week was a flutter of excitement as BCBG Max Azria presented another successful runway show.

The latest collection, a youthful line celebrating colors and angles, provided a refreshing retreat from the post-summer blues.

Using asymmetrical angles, vibrant hues, and color blocking patterns, BCBG makes this girl desire seeing these looks transcend from the runway to her closet!

Hudson “Jeggings” = Fall Must-Have Denim

As a curvy gal, it’s often an uphill battle to find jeans that fit just so. The closest I’ve come is a pair of elastic waist skinny jeans (no, they weren’t maternity jeans!) I found at Target, which resulted in incessant teasing from the boyfriend.

However, Hudson’s latest offering are not only just what the doctor ordered, but they just might do the trick. Totally different from those leggings you might have seen that are made to look like denim, Hudson’s Jeggings are a combination of the jean and leggings.

So, how would you style these clever little devils this fall?

Lead denim designer for Hudson Jeans, Ben Taverniti, offers his suggestion, proving that Jeggings are as versatile as they are comfortable:

“The jegging is a fashion essential this season because it provides the comfort of the legging and chic design of the jean. It’s something that is very easy to wear and goes with anything in your cloest. To dress up your new jeggings, wear them with Christian Louboutins or dress them down with a beat up pair of Converse tennis shoes. You can wear them with a tank top or a more dressy top, a canvas bag or a Balenciaga. The jegging gives your look an edge, no matter how you style them.”

Hudson “jeggings” retail for $154.00 and are available in sizes 24-32.
